Using social innovation design to energize and heal fractured cultures.

October 2, 2024, Noon–1 p.m.

Cheryl Kiser & Cheryl Heller

The world is at odds. Stress and divisiveness are on the rise and organizational cultures are feeling the effects. From top leadership through middle management to young people entering the workforce, everyone is feeling the anxiety of an unpredictable, ambiguous, and often unknowable world, where our differences are growing along with the need to come together to address shared challenges. This webinar will explore how Social Innovation Design offers a process and language for mobilizing and energizing diverse stakeholders to identify common values and achieve common goals. And, we’ll teach you how leveraging social innovation refocuses energy on what we have in common and what we want to accomplish together. Whatever your role in business, from supply chain to HR, global to start up or CSR leader, Social Innovation Design is a process that can benefit you and your organizational culture.

The Future Spectacle | Emerging Industries of Fascination

Jason Mohaghegh

There are entire cities and industries around the world that are risking their very existence on the ability to generate some fascinating, once-in-a-lifetime experience. These spectacles of almost magical effect—like the pyramids of old Egypt, the gladiator arenas of ancient Rome, or the carnivals and circuses of the medieval era—require hyper-creative strategies that are nevertheless defined by extreme vulnerability.

This one-hour webinar will explore various global examples of such futuristic “moonshot” innovations: from the radical architecture of artificial supercities to the rise of outer space tourism and underwater hotels, from cutting-edge experiments in ecology to biogenetic marvels that will redefine the human, from the most recent trends in virtual reality or hologram technology to the promise of an immersive simulated society of the Metaverse, and many other strange and captivating new formations on the horizon. Ultimately, we will trace how these highly speculative ventures—those which aim to unlock a one-of-a-kind or impossible event—are in fact based on specific visionary techniques that could transform our understanding of reality itself.

Attendees will learn how immense dimensions of the market are shifting towards purely experiential products and how curiosity, originality, surprise, and atmospheric design (world-building) can play a crucial role in all areas of entrepreneurial action.
